Who I am as a teacher:
My
teaching philosophy
I
know that learners are the constructors of knowledge through active
participation and the social nature of learning, therefore my philosophy of
teaching is to help the students to improve their learning through to design
interesting, enjoyable, and funny lessons which offer them the possibility to
improve their skills in a second language.
It is very important to remember that
knowledge is not mechanically acquired, but actively constructed within the
constraints and offerings of the learning environment. Hence, students can construct knowledge in real-world environments and teachers are the helpers
and the drivers in this process.
My beliefs about my teaching
I
believe that motivation is the key to be successful not only as a language
learner but also as a teacher. Hence, teachers play an important role to make
the process more efficient. Thus, I usually think in advance how I can keep my
students motivated and avoid they could become bored and lose interest during
the lessons.
What I learned about teaching speaking skills
Teaching
speaking skills demand to incorporate active learning strategies in each lesson plan that promote interaction, pronunciation, and the development of
comprehension of a second language during each encounter, to engage students in
their learning process and obtain better results.
I
learned that one of the best ways to teach is using technology because it
promotes the development of the communicative competences in the students and
allows them to improve the quality of education, according to the new
requirements of the world. The idea is
to achieve that students use different gadgets to improve their knowledge
making learning more direct, useful, and joyful.
My principles about teaching speaking online
First:
Help each student step by step in his/her process of learning according to
their abilities.
Second: Be clear about what I want my students to learn.
